Mason Mingus heads home to compete in All American 400

Tennessee Regular set for the Big Race

Team PR - Mason Mingus heads home from the ARCA and NASCAR racing series to compete in the All American 400 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway this weekend.

Mingus, a native of Brentwood, TN, relocated to North Carolina in May to be closer to the ARCA and NACAR team he is driving for this season.

The move paid huge dividends in the ARCA Racing Series where he finished second in points to the legendary Frank Kimmel. He also penciled in three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events for this year. He competed at Talladega and races at Phoenix and Homestead to round out his NASCAR season.

Mingus, a 2013 Franklin Road Academy graduate, has also raced in several Super Late Model Series events this year including the Winchester 400, where he finished a strong third after overcoming mechanical problems with his car midway through the event.

“I’m really looking forward to being in Nashville for the All American 400,” Mingus said. “Racing at the Fairgrounds is always fun but to race there in the legendary All American is really special. With the names I’ve seen on the entry list, I know it will be a great race.”

While Mingus, who turns 19-years-old in November, has raced all over the country in several series this season, he plans on going back to his racing roots by once again using 98 as his car number, a move that he feels served him well in the tough Winchester race.

“We used the 98 number for a long, long time and it kind of feels right to use it on our Super Late Model again,” he said during a practice session at the Fairgrounds last week. Mingus said he was proud to have Ms Kelli’s and Dial 811 Before You Dig as sponsors for the All American race.

“Dial 811 Before You Dig has been a great sponsor for us this year and we’re really pleased to have Ms Kelli’s Karaoke Bar for the All American,” he stated.

Even though the ARCA season is in the books, Mingus said he is looking forward to at least three more races after the All American.

“We have the two NASCAR Truck races left on our schedule, but we also have one more Super Late Model event and one of my favorite races that we’ll try to make this year with the Snow Ball Derby,” he said. “Like Winchester and the All American, it’s a tough race, but it’s one that every driver wants to win. So we’ll finish out the season there.”

Mingus said that his team would announce plans for the 2014 season later this year.
