GMP Set to Host World Crown 300

Lots to do Around the Track on World Crown Weekend

The Slack Auto Parts World Crown 300 Presented by Peach State Freightliner and Ford Power Stroke Diesel and Fireworks sponsored by Royal Oak was rescheduled for August 10th after bad weather forced a cancellation of the Annual race on July 4th.  Because of rescheduling the World Crown 300 to be the last race of the season, Gresham Motorsports Park is celebrating the biggest race of the season and the conclusion of the 2013 race season with an action packed night for the entire family.

On August 10th, the infield concession stand will serve Bacon and Sausage, egg and cheese croissants, Muffins and Doughnuts for breakfast from 8am-10am for drivers and teams.  Lunch Specials, in the infield only, will include Pork Loin, Green Beans, Mac and Cheese, Fried Okra and a roll or BBQ, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw and Fries. Banana Pudding and Strawberry Short Cake will be served for dessert.

Kipper Tool has been selling raffle tickets at each GMP race to benefit Homes for Our Troops and The Fisher House Foundation.  On August 10th, Kipper Tool will have the grand drawing for prizes including, Tools, Autographed NASCAR memorabilia, and so much more.  They will draw from all of the tickets that have been purchased since the first 2013 race at GMP and those drawn do not have to be present to win.

Kipper Tool is also providing FREE entrance to the Slack Auto Parts World Crown 300 Presented by Peach State Freightliner and Ford Power Stroke Diesel and Fireworks sponsored by Royal Oak on August 10th to active and retired military.  There are a limited number of tickets and Military ID must be presented at the ticket gate on race day in order to receive FREE admission.

Race fans can test their driving skills at the race on August 10th.  Akins Ford, provider of the 2013 GMP Pace Car, will be providing a racing simulator for the evening at no cost to fans.  Akins Ford is hosting an “Akins Employee Night” at GMP, so express your appreciation to Akins Ford employees for their support throughout 2013.

When the Slack Auto Parts World Crown 300 Presented by Peach State Freightliner and Ford Power Stroke Diesel and Fireworks sponsored by Royal Oak was rescheduled for August 10th, it shortened GMP’s race schedule by one race.  For this reason, annual trackside parking space holders will be given one free adult general admission ticket to the World Crown 300 on August 10th (value of $30).  The value of the ticket will compensate for the extra race date that was paid for in advance when the season trackside parking space was purchased.  Please make sure to have your parking hang-tag at the trackside ticket gate on race day.

Make sure to get to GMP by 3:30pm for a Pre-Race concert by The Bobby Compton Band.  At the Pre-Race Concert, one lucky fan could win a 2014 GMP trackside parking space!  Trackside and grandstand gates open at 11am, concert begins at 3:30pm and opening ceremonies begin at 4:45pm.  At the conclusion of the evening’s last race event, GMP will present a HUGE fireworks show sponsored by Royal Oak.

Atlanta Motor Speedway will be set up behind the grandstands again this year to promote the AdvoCare 500 on September 1st.  Make sure to stop by their booth to enter for a chance to win FREE tickets to the AdvoCare 500.

Ticket prices are $30 for Adult General Admission, $25 for Seniors and military, $15 for Students and teachers, and FREE for kids 12 and under.  The $5 discount coupons from Slack Auto Parts for the July 4th race date will be valid on August 10th.   Also, while supplies last, Kipper Tool is providing FREE admission to the Slack Auto Parts World Crown 300 Presented by Peach State Freightliner and Ford Power Stroke Diesel and Fireworks sponsored by Royal Oak on August 10th for active and retired military (must present military I.D. at the ticket gate).
