Mobile to Close Out Gulf Coast Championship This Weekend
Two Titles on the Line Under the Southern Super Series Presented by Sunoco Banner
One final test will take place for the Southern Super Series drivers before will head to the All American 400 at Nashville in November. That test will also decide the two-track Sunoco Gulf Coast Championship between Five Flags Speedway in Florida and the site of the final race, Mobile International Speedway in Alabama.

The Gulf Coast Championship will go down to the wire as will the Mobile track title, the Miller Lite Series, which both fly under the banner of the Southern Super Series presented by Sunoco on Saturday October 5th.

A key player in both battles will be John Hunter Nemechek, who leads the points in the Miller Lite Series and is second in the Gulf Coast Championship series.  Even without a victory in 2013, Nemechek is hoping to win a race and a championship on the same night.

"We are really looking forward to the final race of the series in Mobile this weekend," said Nemechek. "We have been strong every time we have raced there this year. We have a chance to win our first Super Late Model championship there Saturday.  We are working hard to make it happen and hopefully our hard work will pay off."

Nemechek leads the Miller Lite track standings by 16 markers over Daniel Hemric and 21 over DJ VanderLey.  In the Gulf Coast Championship Series he trails Hemric by 15 markers.  It will be interesting to keep track of both battles as points are awarded 100 for the win, 97 for second and three back for each spot. Mathematically a few positions on the track could decide the title.  Points are also awarded for time trials with 15 for first, 14 for second, 13 for third and on back.

"It's hard to ask for a better championship battle," said Tim Bryant who is the GM at both Mobile and Five Flags Speedways.  "It's going to go right down to the wire and when you thrown in the overall battle for the Southern Super Series and those just racing for a trophy then it creates a recipe for a great race."

Bubba Pollard leads Daniel Hemric by 46 points with two races to go in the overall battle for the inaugural Southern Super Series presented by Sunoco title.  Hemric was at Mobile this season and Pollard has 11 Super Late Model wins there in the past.

The Miller Lite 125 Presented by RE Suspensions will take place on Saturday, October 5th at Mobile International Speedway.  Pit gates open at 11am CT with practice at 2:45pm.  Qualifying will take place at 5:45pm with racing starting at 7pm.  Champions will be crowned in Modifieds, Sportsman and Bombers after the Miller Lite title is decided.
