Weather Forces Cancellation of Southern Super Series October 5 Event at Mobile
Nemecheck Declared Track's Miller Lite Series Champion, Hemric Gulf Coast Champion
With Tropical Storm Karen forecasted to impact the entire Gulf Coast region this weekend, officials from the Southern Super Series presented by Sunoco and Alabama's Mobile International Speedway have cancelled the Miller Lite 125 presented by RE Suspension, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 5.

Series and track officials researched possible make-up dates for the Miller Lite 125 presented by RE Suspension, but in respect to other series' late-season events and major Super Late Model races in the coming weeks, there will not be a make-up for the Mobile event.  The inaugural Southern Super Series championship will be decided in the season finale, the 29th Annual All American 400 at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in Nashville, Tennessee November 1-2.

John Hunter Nemechek is declared Mobile's Miller Lite Series track champion.  In the Sunoco Gulf Coast Championship Series, which combines Super Late Model points at Mobile and Pensacola, Florida's Five Flags Speedway, Daniel Hemric is declared the champion.  Both drivers will be honored during pre-race ceremonies at the 46th Annual Snowball Derby presented by JEGS on Sunday, December 8.

Bubba Pollard will take a 46-point lead over Hemric into the Southern Super Series championship event, the All American 400, November 1-2 in Nashville.
