Ross Kenseth Enjoying Some Southern (Super Series) Hospitality
First trip to Montgomery, Alabama up next
Ross Kenseth is no stranger to doing well and scoring big wins. After all, in 2012 he was the man standing in victory lane after winning the Winchester 400 and the All-American 400, two of the biggest short track events in the country. Over the past couple of seasons, the Appleton, Wisconsin driver, who now resides in Mooresville, North Carolina has been getting a lay of the land by competing at several tracks throughout the southeastern United States.

One such new track Kenseth and his Generation 3 Motorsports Team will be visiting is the fast 1/2 mile slightly banked paved oval of Montgomery Motor Speedway in Montgomery, Alabama on Saturday, June 1st for the Southern Super Series 125 Presented by AR Bodies. After competing at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida and Mobile International Speedway in Mobile, Alabama over the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend, Kenseth is looking forward to the new challenges Montgomery brings.

"I'm excited to go down there. I've been fortunate to be able to race at quite a few short tracks around the country and I've heard a lot of good things about it." The recently turned 20-year-old (On May 25th) stated. "Montgomery is one of those that I haven't seen before so I'm looking forward to it and hopefully we can come out of there with a win." He added.

Kenseth has enjoyed success on flat tracks throughout the country and especially in his native Wisconsin. Dells Raceway Park, LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway and Wisconsin International Raceway are three that Kenseth has seen victory lane at. He's also won outside of his home state at Columbus Motor Speedway and Plymouth Speedway (now a dirt track) in ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS competition as well and in addition to his career wins on high-banked facilities like Nashville and Winchester. So what is his secret?

"I think going to a lot of different race tracks is a good thing in order to continue gaining a lot of experience. From high banks to flat tracks, I really enjoy going to different places. There isn't two tracks in the country that are identical," Kenseth explained. "Since day one I just like to go out there and go wide open. That's the only way you're really going to learn."

As for racing in the Southern Super Series, Kenseth is hoping to be able to attend more events as his schedule allows; "I think it's a great series and it's really neat that they were able to put this all together with the tracks that are in this particular series," the son of 2003 NASCAR Winston (Now Sprint) Cup Series Champion, Matt Kenseth added. "I like how they brought the tracks together and it's definitely good for this region of the country. We're planning on getting too as many as we can. I enjoy racing with the teams down here."

The Southern Super Series 125 Presented by AR Bodies at Montgomery on Saturday, June 1st will also have the tracks weekly divisions of Open Sportsman, Buzz and Street Stocks. Ticket and hotel information can be found on the track’s official website located at: www.montgomeryspeedway.com
