Southern Super Series Moving Forward Following Nashville's All-American 400 Decision
Gulf Coast Doubleheader Weekend Up Next for Super Late Model Stars
CONCORD, NC (July 17, 2014) - Southern Super Series presented by Sunoco officials were notified Wednesday that Tony Formosa, promoter of Tennessee's Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville, had made the November 1st All-American 400 event a Pro Late Model race.  The event was scheduled to be the season finale for the Southern Super Series Super Late Models.

With the track's decision, SSS officials are moving forward in continuing the series' position as a marquee Super Late Model touring series.

"We were disappointed with Nashville's decision, but the Southern Super Series is forging ahead with the remaining 2014," said Dan Spence, Southern Super Series Director.  "We continue to have a cordial relationship with Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville and we wish the best for their All-American 400."

The All-American 400 was also scheduled to be a non-points event for the ARCA/CRA Super Series along with the championship event for the Southern Super Series.  With the removal of Super Late Models from the event, the ARCA/CRA Super Series will no longer be a part of the All-American 400, CRA officials confirmed with the Southern Super Series.

The Southern Super Series will be in action next on July 25 and 26 for the third Sunoco Gulf Coast Doubleheader Weekend.  The Super Late Model stars will battle at Pensacola, Florida's Five Flags Speedway on Friday, July 25, followed on Saturday, July 26 with another 125-lap feature at Mobile International Speedway in Irvington, Alabama.
